Volume 18. Chapter 14. The End.

The desperate and debilitating battle between the two Lords left a noticeable mark in the sky. The ashes scattered around it slowly fell to the ground like snowflakes. Jin-Woo watched the dark gray grains of ash settle on his shoulders and looked up. In the distance, somewhere above it

-the soldiers of the Masters, covering their skies with their figures, were heading to another place through the countless Gates. This Spectacle was truly stunning. Tens of millions of soldiers marched in unison on the orders of their Masters. Their goal was to completely destroy the remaining powers of the Rulers. Now that the Dragon Emperor, as well as several other Rulers, are dead, the army of Peace of Chaos had no chance of survival. And so the celestial soldiers marched forward to announce the end of the war, which had already dragged on for too long. Jin-Woo felt his chest go numb as he watched them unfold. While the hunter was languishing with what was happening, the Brightest Particle of Shining Light finished giving orders to her soldiers and returned to him. Then the angel landed right in front of Jin Woo. Other Rulers landed one after another behind the Brightest particle of the Shining Light. He studied the current state of Jin-Woo. At first glance, he looked like the most ordinary person. “This man alone managed to put an end to the war between us and the Rulers?

” Who could ever imagine such a thing?

Who would have thought that this eternal war, which could not see any end or edge, would be completed thanks to a weak being from a distant world?

At least this Angel never thought about it. And that is why his initial surprise grew into pure respect for the achievements of Jin Woo.

-You ended our war. I can’t even imagine how I can thank you.

-… Jin-Woo silently looked at the ashes falling from the sky, and then turned his eyes to the Particle of Shining Light. “I want to ask you a favor.” Although it may turn out to be too complicated for a gesture of gratitude.

-A favor?

-a bit of confusion appeared on the face of the Particle. The power of the Shadow Ruler could well be at the same level… No, maybe even more than his own. However, did this creature ask for a favor?

As if trying to fix the confusion in the head of the Particle of Light, Jin-Woo spoke first, without waiting for a leading question:

-Only you can do it. An angel with six wings nodded in agreement:

-If I am able to do this, I undertake to fully help you!

The Shadow Ruler played an important role in the assassination of the Dragon Emperor, and therefore the Lords could be called large debtors. They, of course, had no excuses to ignore his request. However, a rather complicated request came from Jin Woo:

-Once again… Can you use the “Cup of rebirth” again?

The Particle of Light felt an unprecedented stun, as if she had been hit hard on the back of her head. Even the other Masters who stood behind could not hide their surprise. As their leader, the Angel simply had to clarify:

-Are you asking me to use the “Cup of Rebirth” and rewind time again?

-Yes. Jin Woo nodded in the affirmative and explained:

-And after changing the course of time, I would like you to send nothing to Earth. I will kill the Rulers and their army between dimensions. The Brightest Particle was stunned by what Jin-Woo was planning to do after the time rolled back. For a long time the angel could not utter a word. “Alone… Does he want to wage this war alone?

” Jin-Woo heard the story of the “Cup of Rebirth” from the former Shadow Ruler. Even after using the divine instrument and reversing the time, higher beings such as Rulers and Masters will retain their memories. In this case, since he gained the power of the Shadow Ruler, he will not lose his current abilities. Jin-Woo planned to take this power along with his memories and decisively enter the abyss between the dimensions.

-Do you want to fight them alone?

!

-once again asked the Angel, refusing to believe what he heard. Distrust was noticeably visible in the voice of the Brightest Particle of Shining Light.

-But why do you want to do this?

We used the “Rebirth Cup” many times, but we never achieved a better result than this. “…” Jin-Woo looked at his father’s short sword and calmly answered: -Too many lives were lost in this brutal war. I just want to get them back. That’s all. If it’s still possible to return them all by rewinding time, then Jin-Woo is absolutely ready to fight the Rulers again. Brightest Particle closed her eyes to ponder his words. The angel suddenly realized that he sympathized with Jin Woo. Be that as it may, changing the time remained a very dangerous act.

-The Rebirth Cup is approaching its limit. If you do not achieve your goal, it is likely that we will no longer be able to turn back the clock. These words meant that an even more terrible and cruel future could happen to this world. An angel tried to say that the current situation is the best outcome for everyone.

-If you want this, you can forever remain in the memory of everyone, like a hero who alone stopped the invasion of the Rulers. But instead… Sorrow was clearly visible on the face of the Brightest Particle.

-The battle that you want to start will be remembered only to you. If you lose, you will be destroyed. And even if you come out victorious, no one will celebrate your victory. The six-winged angel last asked Jin Woo if he was sure:

-Given these circumstances, do you still want to turn back the clock?

Before answering, Jin-Woo closed his eyes and thought about important people in his life. Through the Shadow Soldiers attached to their shadows, he was free to watch them. His mother and younger sister held hands excitedly, watching anxiously the news from Japan on TV. Cha Jaen closed her eyes tightly, as if she prayed fervently to someone. *** Meanwhile, Association President Wu Jin Chul was watching the news on TV with tears in his eyes. Jin-Woo felt their touching emotions and a certain warmth appeared in his chest. Opening his eyes, he was completely sure of his decision.

-I’m coming back. … For the sake of those who are still alive, and even for those who are no longer here. The faces of the president of the Association, Gong Gong Hee, Adam White, and his father appeared before his eyes. Many more people, besides them, were sacrificed to this war. Jin-Woo vowed that he would not lose anyone else. The brightest Particle saw his unwavering resolve perfectly.

-… The reason the Lords went so far as to use the “divine instrument that no one should be used” and save this world was in the fact that initially this planet had nothing to do with their endless war. However, the inhabitant and hero of this world decided everything for himself. He said that he would save the whole world only on his own. And that he himself will shoulder this burden. For a moment, it seemed to Angel that the expression on Jin Woo’s face coincided with the expression on the former Ruler of the Shadows. It was the face of his stubborn friend who refused to step aside, although the heavenly warriors completely filled the heavens and threatened him. But by all means he wanted to protect his master. He could be a terrible enemy, but at the same time the Angel respected him very much. “They are alike.” A slight smile appeared on the lips of the Brightest Particle when he remembered Osborne’s face. “I understand,” he finally said. “I will pray for your success. ” Wait a minute, “Jin-Woo stopped him and quickly asked a question. ” What will happen to my Shadow Soldiers who were not in the past?

” For example, soldiers like Ber. Of course, the original soldiers of Osborne will still remain in his shadow, but what about others, such as Greed, who was a man named “Hwang Dong-soo” ten years ago?

Or is Ber, who didn’t even exist then?

The Brightest Particle answered according to her knowledge:

-Those who ultimately overlap with the flow of time in the past will be erased. The rest will remain as they are. This means that Ber will exist, but Greed will disappear. Now he could hear the soldiers crying with grief inside his shadow. Jin Woo said goodbye to his soldiers, whom he would no longer see, and raised his head with a smile.

-I am ready. The brightest Particle called the “Rebirth Cup” from the subspace and nodded her head:

-I pray that your courage will save this world once again. *** Blinding light enveloped the whole world. A small note about a high school student who disappeared and left a note saying: “I have to do something” appeared in the corner of a local newspaper. After a couple of years. For a short time, the world began to rustle after a high school student who went missing suddenly returned home, as if nothing had happened. As if it were some kind of dream. However, soon everything returned to its usual course. Then came the calm times. No incidents with the Gates, monsters and Hunters that appeared to hunt hostile creatures. None of this happened. *** Yu Jin Ho was in the middle of a newbie party, but his expression remained rather harsh. The seductive smell of strips of pork belly on a hissing grill, which spread to the sides, tickled his nose. But because of nervous tension, he could not do anything with poor appetite. But how could this happen?

Although he hid his origin, he currently lived the way a rich man’s son should do it. However, for some reason, this snack of frozen pork belly seemed strange to him. “What’s the matter?

” Yu Jin Ho shook his head, and then one of the senior students patted him lightly on the shoulder.

-Hey, Gene Ho?

What is the matter with you?

Relax dude. From the side you look like they are leading you to a slaughterhouse or something like that. Yu Jin Ho was bewildered and his voice unknowingly raised:

-No, it’s okay!

-In short, don’t be so dull even today, okay?

-the elder laughed a little viciously, but then covered his mouth with his palm.

-Ah, yes. I hope you are aware that you need to behave with dignity before the “older” ones?

This is just in case. You see, we have a really scary guy at the faculty.

-Khe,

-Yu Jin Ho tensed even harder.

-Do you know that guy?

He does not just punish the younger for no reason. His incredible charisma is so… Yes, Yu Jin Ho also knew what it was like to be near someone like him. He quickly remembered the face of his father, who is often called the CEO. Then he shook his head to distract himself from negative thoughts. Perhaps he was already drunk to the right level. And that guy suddenly started enthusiastically talking about this mysterious “elder.”

-Hey, do you know an athlete named Cha Jaen?

-Um… You are talking about Cha Jaen, who recently became famous like a track and field star?

-Yes, yes!

It. Cha Jaen is the girlfriend of our terrible elder, you know?

Aigu, and here he is. The elder jumped up from his seat when he saw a man enter the diner. Then he bowed to him in a hurry.

-Senior-nim, thanks for coming!

-Senior-nim!

-Senior-nim!

Seeing how politely everyone around greeted the elder, Yu Jin Ho realized that his drunken interlocutor was not exaggerating. With the advent of one person, the atmosphere of a noisy and stormy party of newcomers instantly changed. The stupid nervousness that he felt now could only make saliva slide down his throat. GLP. But the fact is that a loser can break his nose, even falling on his ass. Yu Jin Ho could not even raise his head in fear that he was experiencing. But for some reason, this great and terrible elder, who was discussed, sat right next to him. “Ah… Dear elder, why did you choose a place next to me, when around many other free?

!

-thoughts were feverishly beating in the head of a frightened guy. Yu Jin Ho took a deep breath, his head dropped even more due to unbelievable tension. But then this terrible elder unexpectedly offered him a glass filled with a clear liquid:

-Take a shot from me. Just think, the freshman was given a whole glass of drink, and not one of those tiny glasses of soju?

!

Yu Jin Ho decided that such an action is to be expected from a tough senior. He carefully took the offered glass, hoping not to screw it up in this matter. “True, I am not very good with alcohol…” He closed his eyes and poured liquid into himself. But then his eyes opened with surprise. He immediately asked his question:

-S-senior?

Isn’t that soda?

“Soda,” he answered calmly. This supposedly scary elder didn’t look like that when he turned a bottle of soda in his hand.

-Why can you and I not drink it?

For some unknown reason, the elder’s face looked as if he had met someone whom he really wanted to see after a long separation.

-Oh, Jin Ho?

I’ll be uncomfortable if you continue to call me the older one or the older one, okay?

The older one filled a glass of soda and spoke in a very friendly tone.

-From now on, just contact me

-Hyun.

-Uh?

-Gene Ho was surprised.

-What do you want?

The once kind eyes of a terrible elder suddenly changed to quite serious ones. Yoo Jin Ho instinctively straightened his back and shouted vigorously the answer:

-No, okay, Hyun-nim!

“Ah?

.” Involuntarily saying “hyung”, Yu Jin Ho was confused. These words seemed very familiar to him. “Besides… Wait a minute, I didn’t tell the elder what my name is?

” He shook his head again, meanwhile the elder slightly clinked glasses with him with glasses.

-Hurray!

For some reason, Yu Jin Ho thought that the smile on the elder’s face was completely unfamiliar, the corners of his eyes were red with moisture, and he energetically clinked his glasses with the elder again.

-Yes, hooray!

*** Yu Jin Ho’s somewhat displeased voice came from the speaker of the phone.

-Ah, hyung-nim?

Why didn’t you come to the classroom?

Jin-Woo answered with a grin:

-I have business today. You have to run, you know. Oh yes. Hey Jin Ho?

-Yes, hyung-nim?

-This is a really important question that I should take care of first. Can you replace me during afternoon classes?

Thank you.

-Uh?

Hyun-nim?

Hyun-nim!

Jin Woo picked up the phone from which his voice frantically shouted from his ear and ended the conversation. The hunter raised his head and looked at the name of the hospital, in large print right in front of his face. “Seoul Il-Sin Hospital.” He was supposed to meet with someone at this place. The guy stopped for a second to straighten his clothes. Then, when he took a step to the hospital, a fairly familiar person swept past him. He clearly did not want to be noticed. But, perhaps because his gaze lingered on her too long, she stopped and turned to face him.

-…?

It was Joo Hee. B-rank healer, who was very afraid, but still joined the Association. The girl tried her best so that the force given to her would not be wasted. She was like that before, but now she looked at Jin-Woo like an ordinary university student. In the end, he smiled tenderly, realizing how good she is not in the role of the Huntress. Joo Hee carefully examined Jin Woo and finally hesitantly opened her mouth:

-Um, excuse me. Have we met before somewhere?

The words of joyful greeting were already on the tip of the tongue. However, instead, he shook his head:

-No, I don’t think so. And then he turned around and went without looking back. For some time, Joo Hee still watched Jin Woo, but then went about her business. He heard her steps and smiled rather. He defended her. Guarded peaceful everyday life. Whenever Jin Woo came across the signs of peace on earth that his victim had achieved, it felt like he was reaping the fruits of his hard work. That’s why… “That’s enough for me.” . … That was enough for him. Jin-Woo stood in front of the hospital entrance and looked at his left palm with an incurable burn. Then the hunter slowly entered the building. If someone asked him about the wound, he would answer like this: “He was injured, saving the world.” *** When the head doctor entered the hospital ward, a certain patient who was lying on the bed motioned him to come closer.

-Can you… Help me sit down, please?

The doctor quickly went to the bed and carefully helped the patient lying on his back to rise.

-Thank you,

-the patient sincerely thanked. At that moment the doctor noticed a wooden bottle that he had never seen before, on the table next to the patient’s bed.

-What is it President?

The emaciated patient was thin, like a long-dried tree. The patient coughed excruciatingly and grunted:

-The young man just gave it to me. The doctor became agitated when he heard such news. After all, this is a room for VIP patients. And this meant that there were always two guards at the entrance. No one could enter the room without special permission from the doctor. But who managed to get here to leave this bottle here?

-It all seems very strange… However, the young man told me something absolutely unbelievable. This young man told the story of a long-rewritten time when the patient fought with the “monsters” side by side with him. Then the guy said that he came to visit him and give a gift as a thank you for everything that happened then.

-And then he just disappeared. As if it were a mirage, as if it had never been here. If not for physical evidence, even the head physician would not have believed it. But the proof of everything that happened was a gift that a mysterious young man allegedly left. While the doctor was standing and thinking how to react to this situation, the patient’s trembling finger pointed to a wooden bottle.

-Give it … to me. The doctor took the bottle and handed it to the patient. The old man sitting on the bed examined the bottle and grinned.

-He said that if I drink the contents to the bottom, my illness will be completely cured. It’s as if she’ll take it off with his hand. Ha ha.

-P-President!

You cannot believe it… “I’m tired,” the patient interrupted the doctor.

-Let me ask you a question. Even if I don’t drink it, in any case, how much is left for me?

-… The doctor could not answer. Now, the best that modern medicine could do was maintain the patient’s breathing. That’s all. At that moment, it could be called a miracle that he was still alive. The President shuddered slightly because the doctor didn’t answer anything.

-If I drink it and something will go not so… I want these words to be written on my gravestone: “President Go Gun-Hee is buried in this place. He never gave up and fought the disease until the very end. ”

-Mr. President… He was a doctor. And he knew that his duty was to stop this process. But he did not dare to do it. Go Gun-Hee opened the bottle. Then he began to drink the liquid from it with some difficulty. GLP, GLP. After making sure that everything fell into his throat to the last drop, Go Gun-Hee began to recall the face of that young man who left this bottle. In particular, he remembered his eyes. Go Gun-Hee felt that a person with such strong eyes could be trusted. And then… As soon as he drank the medicine bottle to the bottom… Ba-dump. Ba-dump, Ba-dump, Ba-dump. His dying heart seemed to come to life. His heart… beat again. ≪ Afterword from the author ≫ Hello everyone. Chugon speaks to you. In truth, when I wrote: “Hello everyone,” I was stuck in thought about what to write next, for almost ten minutes. But that was quite expected. If the afterword at the end of the novel is a letter from the author, then I would like to say only one thing. Thank. Many thanks. I would like to thank you for following the work of a mediocre writer. Because you loved him and patiently waiting for new chapters. Now we are at the very end. Some of you were worried that the ending came too suddenly. But, to be honest, I planned it from the very beginning. Moments like Jin Woo rewinding time, Joo Hee, who appeared at the beginning of the story, and then again at the end… Or even the fact that he cured Go Gong Hee’s disease

-all this. Although I added the reunion with Yu Jin Ho after he wrote the scene in the diner between Jin-Woo and him, it seemed extremely funny to me. So, after almost 250 episode march, on this note “Level Up Alone” comes to an end. I recently asked other authors how they felt after completing their short stories. All, as one, said that it was a mixture of relief and sadness. But why then I do not feel any relief, but only sadness?

Even while I am typing this afterword, tears come to my eyes. I seem to be acting like a child. For some reason, I’m sad. But in truth, I’m thinking of taking a week off before returning to you with a series of side stories again. I pray that nothing bad will happen to you!

Since I am writing this afterword, I can increase the volume of the chapter and take this opportunity to express my gratitude to those who helped me to make Level Up Alone successful. My greatest partner, Deputy Manager Go Don Nam. Lee Seok Won is an editor who helped me in various ways, as well as author Leltry, the rising star of our unique team. Honestly, I thought it would be awkward thank only two people, so I also added author Lela. But, having done this, I remembered that I constantly whispered to him on the phone when I was stuck in the writer’s block. And now I really apologize for having almost forgotten it. I’m really sorry, Leltry!

So, I would like to once again announce the end of “Level Up Alone”, created from 10% whining, 39% hard work and 50% of your love, dear readers. Once again I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Although it was not easy while I was writing this short story, I still found this adventure very enjoyable thanks to you, my readers, who decided to accompany me on this trip. I’ll get ready more thoroughly and will return to you in better condition, than ever before. Be healthy, and goodbye!
